RJM Supplies Lube Oil Coolers for The Canyon Ferry Dam, Montana

The Canyon Ferry Dam owned by the US Bureau of Reclamation is a 50 MW concrete gravity structure type dam. The lube oil coolers are in a circular configuration with a diameter of 60 inches. The tubing is one ( 1 ) inch diameter copper nickel tubing with extruded aluminum fins. All seems are brazed and welded by ASME approved welders. The units were pressure tested 125 psi for 1.5 hours.

RJM Supplies John Day Dam With Retubed Lube Oil Coolers

The John Day Dam is the fifth largest power producing dam in the USA with 2,485 MW output. RJM retubed the original 1971 lube oil coolers with one inch diameter copper nickel tubes and extruded aluminum fintube. The very large oil coolers, 10 ft diameter were also fabricated with new inlet and outlet headers. The contract included transportation to and from the fabrication facility.

RJM Wins Generator Air Coolers for The Shasta Dam, Bureau of Reclamation

RJM reverse engineered and designed duplicate General Electric generator coolers. The original 2500 kVA generator coolers were built for The Bureau of Reclamation in 1941 and featured a design with 176 fin tube copper tubes. The coolers were drop in to exactly fit the existing housing and water piping.

The Shasta Dam is a concrete arc gravity dam which is fed by the Sacramento River and produces 676 MW of power generation.

Titanium Tube Heat Exchanger Supplied for Solar Turbines Project

RJM Heat Exchanger Inc and it’s fabrication partner supplies three large generator coolers for a solar turbines project. The heat exchanger tubes were fabricated with seamless titanium tubes made from SB-338 Grade 2 titanium. The header waterboxes were also made of grade 2 titanium. The air opening of the heat exchanger was 80 inches x 72 inches. Delivery time was a fast 14 weeks after drawing approval.

Transformer Coolers Awarded for US Navy Ship LHD Wasp Class

January 15, 2017 RJM Heat Exchanger Inc and its fabrication partner were awarded two heat exchangers for the US Navy LHD Wasp Class Amphibious Assault Ship. Navy ships are requiring large transformers to power drives and weapons. The transfomer coolers built to MIL-C-19836B are a double tube design with 90-10 copper-nickel being the material in contact with the cooling medium salt water. The Wasp Class ship is pictured above.
